Description

The Antall József Knowledge Centre (AJKC) is a foundation established by Mrs Klára Antall in 2009. The institution is named after Dr József Antall (1932–1993), the first freely elected Prime Minister of Hungary, who served from 1990 to 1993.

Organised by the Antall József Knowledge Centre annually, the Antall József Summer School is a two-week educational programme putting under scrutiny the most pivotal cooperation of the Central European region, the Visegrad Cooperation. Many aspects of this special partnership are examined throughout the school including history, economy policy, energy policy, innovation, foreign and security policy, culture and tourism, and the question of sustainability via lectures, workshops, debates, and roundtable discussions.

Eligibility

The Knowledge Centre invites 50 participants, aged 20-35, primarily from the V4 countries, the CEI and Eastern Partnership member states. However, application is also open for MA and PhD students and young professionals with a university degree from non-eligible countries.

Eligible countries: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Non-eligible countries: Austria, China, France, Germany, Japan, Kuwait, Norway, Qatar, Russia, the USA, the United Kingdom, and generally all the EU member states are also welcome.

Scholarship value

SCOLARSHIP TYPE 1 – ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES

Costs covered: travel, accommodation with breakfast included, lunch, accompanying programmes

Costs not covered: insurances of any kind, visa application (where needed)

SCOLARSHIP TYPE 2 – NON-ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES

Costs covered: accommodation with breakfast included, lunch, accompanying programmes

Costs not covered: travel, insurances of any kind, visa application (where needed)

Scholarships are granted automatically upon acceptance. 

There is a registration fee of 80 EUR for all participants.

Application Process

– a Proof of English Proficiency (Minimum Level: B2 / Language Certificate Required),

– Fill in the Online Application Form,

– Submit a Letter of Recommendation no older than 3 months from a Relevant Academic Teacher (with their contact, signature and stamp included),

– Submit a maximum one page Letter of Motivation and Curriculum Vitae.
