 The European University Institute in Florence

The European University Institute offers PhD scholarships in Economics, History and Civilization, Law and Political and Social Sciences. The application for admission to the EUI doctoral program is automatically an application for a national grant, The 150 scholarships include tuition fees, monthly grants and access to EUI campus facilities.

Scuola Normale Superiore PhD Scholarships

Scuola Normale Superiore is offering 91 fully funded PhD scholarships to both Italian citizens and international students (EU and non-EU) . All students admitted to the PhD program receive full financial support including tuition, fees, and a cost-of living stipend (15,012 euro per year, plus free meals).

EDISU Piemonte Scholarships

Non-EU international students enrolled in a full-time PhD Degree courses at one of the Universities of Piedmont (i.e. The Politecnico of Torino, the University of Torino, the University of Eastern Piedmont) can apply for EDISU scholarships if they meet the merit and economic requirements of the competition. The scholarship amount varies depending on many conditions. Accommodation service can also be granted to non-resident students.

Italian Government PhD scholarships in Italy for international students

Italian Government scholarships are available for studying in Italy both to foreign citizens and Italian citizens resident abroad (IRE). It is only possible to apply for three, six, or nine month scholarships. Scholarships can be awarded only for study/ research projects at institutions within the Italian public education and research system. The University of Padova also offers Gini Foundation Grants to support International Students who plan to attend a period of study or specialization at departments of the University of Padova in the scientific fields of Agriculture, Engineering or Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences.

Understanding and Managing Extremes (UME) Graduate School offers PhD Scholarships in Risk & Emergency Management in Italy

PhD scholarships are offered by UME Graduate School in Italy. International students can apply for these PhD scholarships. Candidates admitted to the UME School are generally awarded a doctoral scholarship worth about 1,000 Euro net per month. The duration of the scholarship is 36 months and can be increased by up to 50% during periods abroad. The scholarship is sufficient for covering all general living and accommodation expenses.

Early Stage Researcher/PhD Positions at University of Salento in Italy

Postgraduate (towards PhD) research positions are available within the project OPT4SMART funded under the ERC Starting Grant excellence program. OPT4SMART is a 5 years research project funded under the EU Horizon 2020 excellence program “ERC Starting Grant”. The UniCredit & Universities Foundation

The UniCredit & Universities Foundation awards a Europe scholarship for young graduates who wish to take PhD courses abroad at any university in the world  in the field of in economics, banking or finance.
Citizens of all 17 countries where UniCredit is present (Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine) or students of any nationality with a degree from any European university within the geographical area of the Group are eligible to apply. The scholarship amounts to €25,000 for the 2016-2017 academic year, renewable for a second year. All tuition fees for the duration of the scholarship will also be reimbursed.

PhD Scholarships in Biomolecular Sciences at University of Trento in Italy

Applications for doctoral positions are accepted from candidates, regardless of gender, age and nationality, who hold an Italian “Laurea Magistrale” or Foreign Academic Degrees (Master’s degree) must be comparable to the “Laurea Magistrale” in terms of duration and level.
